IT’S VERY DIFFICULT TO LET THE RAIL DOWN. Virtually impossible to do it alone. The anchors work well.
The bed rail is a great height to keep kiddos from rolling out of bed. Length wise it left enough room towards the top and bottom end of the mattress for kids to climb up/down own their own. It’s exactly what I needed the reason for 4 stars though is due to the folding down mechanism, it was very hard for any adult to get it folding down that I’ve had try (I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just me having problems). I understand it’s so the kids don’t try to do it and fall out of bed, pinch fingers etc. We just leave it in the bed rail position.
It’s ok! Maybe would like it to be more sturdy and durable to fit a king size bed.

Useful and seems very pretty
The first time I took the rails off the bed to store them ALL the locking pins simply disappeared. I was unable to rotate or move the legs at all. I was unable to determine where the pins went. The legs could not turn. Therefore I would not be able to store the rails easily as all legs were sticking out. Very disappointed in this item. If you’re just going to keep the rails on all the time and never try to remove and store them, the rails would be great. Our grandkids visit often, but I did not want to leave the rails on the bed permanently- I need to be able to remove them and store them under the bed. We returned this item.
I ordered this because I co-sleep and need something big enough for my King size bed. I am very disappointed in the packaging as it was completely open when I received it and it could have easily slid out of the box in transit. The rails will not fold into the mattress to allow you to get out easier but they do fold up for transport or storage. They are adjustable and certainly fit my King size bed that is 6 1/2 feet long and still has room to expand. The material is a bit cheap but feels like will hold up. These are designed where you have to use both sides at the same time, not just one rail.

So, I bed share with my six month old due to his stomach problems and me needing sleep. It fits almost the entire length of my bed and is sturdy. Just have to make sure the security straps are nice and tight and you put the bar into the mattress a little bit. It was a little confusing to assemble at first, but it was well worth it considering the price and how sturdy it is.Note: my son also pulls up on it and it doesn’t budge. He enjoys this and I enjoy that he is safe doing so.
I put this on my daughter's day bed. Full disclosure: it says to only put it on a bed that had a mattress and box springs and this bed doesn't have a true box springs. It only has a platform, but the rail still works on it just fine. I put it on myself with no problems. Because of the way the platform sits, the "hide away" function doesn't really work for us, so we leave it up most of the time. But, to be clear, this is because of the way our bed is made - not the rail. The tracks for hiding away work well.I did have it let down but not pushed back a few days after I put it on the bed. My son took that opportunity to jump on it and totally bend the track in all kinds of strange ways. I'm not taking any stars off because that's not the way the rail was meant to function - with a 5-year-old using it as some kind of WWE prop. I was able to put it back up and bend it back around to function perfectly. I've rolled on it with all I have to make sure it's safe. I wouldn't let baby girl sleep there if it wasn't.
Purchased this for when my 3 y.o. grandson sleeps over. Product is great for what it is designed for. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because this was an Amazon 'open box, like new' and the bottom clasp was cracked. I started to send back, but with it being on the bottom, and he is not heavy enough to pop it, I decided to keep. I was surprised because the few times I had purchased 'open boxes' I had good luck.
