Project Gutenberg is a great initiation!
My favorite book from there (and one of my favorites in general) is the "The Phoenix and the Carpet" by Edith Nesbit.
First published in 1904. It's a fantasy book. Feel free to read it! I love the story!
You can find a TV Mini-Series with the same title from 1997.
That TV Mini-Series is based on the story of the book.
All of the 6 episodes are available on YouTube! Enjoy!
