2019 Jaguar I-Pace SAFETY FEATURES - The SAFEST ELECTRIC SUV & Better Than Tesla Model X

The new all-electric 2019 Jaguar I-Pace, not to be confused with the new internal-combustion E-Pace crossover, will go on sale in the U.S. later this year with a range of 240 miles and good enough looks to actually be interesting. The I-Pace will also likely be pretty fun to drive, too. Jaguar claims it can get from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, has a 50-50 weight distribution and twin-electric motors providing all-wheel drive, all of which promises the satisfying kick typical of an electric vehicle. Jaguar also claims the I-Pace’s 90 kWh battery pack will be able to fast-charge to 80 percent capacity in just 40 minutes, with the appropriate charger. At-home standard charging will take just over 10 hours to also reach 80 percent. This benchmark measure of reaching 80 percent capacity seems standard among electric cars, as the last 20 percent of battery capacity tends to take disproportionately longer to charge. Fully lit, that’s a claimed range of 240 miles. The I-Pace will also benefit for over-the-air updates, learn driver habits with “Smart Settings,” and will come with an 8-year, 100,000 mile warranty, which sounds pretty good! There are three trims—S, SE, and HSE—as well as a First Edition model. The I-Pace will be fully revealed at this month’s Geneva Motor Show, but is available to order for U.S. buyers as of today. It was previously rumored that it could go for around $76,000, but official pricing will be announced on March 6 and deliveries start by the end of the year.
