Pierre Rolland (EF Education First-Drapac) / Geraint Thomas (Team Sky)
A really exciting stage on offer today - the riders will be climbing Col de la Madeleine & Col de la Croix de Fer before the incredibly famous Alpe d’Huez.
The last two stages have seen prominent breakaways and almost two breakaway victors (with Julian Alaphilippe and almost Mikel Nieve yesterday). I think we can expect to see yet more breakaway action today, and I think it'll be a close one again.
Chris Froome will probably want to gain some time back from Geraint Thomas but if the latter has the legs that he had yesterday, I can see Froome losing a little bit of time again. We could also see attacks from Quintana, Bardet, Nibali et al who lost time yesterday and will want to put themselves back in the running for the GC.
With Rigoberto Uran completely out of GC contention, I think EF Education-First Drapac will turn their attention to Stage wins and Pierre Rolland will be given free reign on stage victory today - so if the victory comes from the breakaway I expect Pierre Rolland to be crossing the line first!
