The Japanese giant will no longer be waiting for the promotion of its crossover subcompact. The Corona virus is not showing its end, so Toyota introduced the new 2021 Toyota Yaris Cross via the internet. For months, she speculated about the new name and then the unexpected news of using the well-known Yaris and adding the Cross label. The new vehicle belongs to the subcompact SUV/crossover segment and is slightly smaller than the C-HR model. Production will take place at a French factory and the first projections show a planned production of 150,000 units.
2021 Toyota Yaris Cross Exterior
The design is original, so it is not borrowed from another company model, but it looks a bit like a RAV4 model to me. The body is built on the same mechanical platform as the Yaris, so we have the same wheelbase of 2,560 mm. However, the total length increased to 4,180 mm, the width increased by 20 mm and the height by 90 mm.
The plan is to offer a large number of dots that will go up to 18 inches and a large color palette. Here is interesting the new Brass Gold color, which used for the front, but also a combination of different roof colors compared to the rest of the vehicle.

2021 Toyota Yaris Cross Interior
The interior is a little different story when it comes to originality. Here I see a lot of details that go with the Yaris model. However, the main differences are the controls of the automatic air conditioner and the instrument panel. We also want to mention the height of the split backrests that can be tilted down in 40:20:40.
Engine Performance
Here’s a little surprise for you. The information that we have a hybrid drive is certainly not, but all-wheel drive definitely is. We talk about of the subcompact crossover segment in Europe. The default setting drives the front wheels, but the rear wheels are turned on when the computer deems it necessary. When it comes to the hybrid system itself, it has an output of 116 horses. It is provided by a combination of 1.5 L gasoline with 3 cylinders and an electric motor. The CO2 emission estimate at 135 g/km. In the front-drive only option, the emissions are 120 g/km.
