The amount of Iran's trade turnover with Arab countries in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East, including Iraq, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Bahrain, was about $22 billion in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Farzad Piltan, the director General of Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran’s Arabic-African Affairs Office, Trend reports citing the official website of the organization.
According to Piltan, $12.5 billion of that amount accounted for Iran's exports and about $9 billion accounted for imports.
Piltan added that last year, Iran exported products worth $9 billion to Iraq, worth $2.5 billion to the UAE, worth $450 million to Oman, worth $200 million to Qatar and worth $180 million to Kuwait.
"Iran exported products worth $160 million to Syria, worth $30 million to Lebanon, worth $21 million to Jordan and worth $10 million to Bahrain," he said.
The official said that last year, Iran imported products worth of $8.7 billion from the UAE, worth of $167 million from Oman, worth of $131 million from Iraq, worth $21 million from Jordan and worth $180 million from Lebanon.
The official added that Iran imported products worth $12 million from Qatar, worth $11 million from Syria and worth $2 million from Bahrain.
Piltan said that in the foreign trade of Iran, the UAE ranks second, Iraq - fourth, Oman - 18th, Qatar - 34th, Kuwait - 39th, Syria - 41st, Lebanon - 62nd, Jordan - 63rd. and Bahrain - 88th.
