Camilere ibadet ya da ziyaret için gidenler bazı camilerin çeşitli yerlerindeki duvarlarda "vav" harfinin yer aldığını görmüşlerdir.
"vav" Harfi İslam inanışımızda büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bazı önemli anlamları ise şunlardır;
Birleştirici olması ("ve" bağlacı olarak, yani Rahman ve Rahim'de olduğu gibi),
Harfin boyun eğmiş (secde etmiş) veya doğmadan önceki embriyoya benzemesi,
Allah'ın "vahid / vahded = birlik" özelliğini simgelemesi.
Hattatların da eserlerinde sıklıkla kullandıkları bir harftir "vav" harfi.
