Ancak burada bahsedeceğimiz canlının Avrasya'da yaşamış olması ve geldikleri familyaya bakıldığında günümüz gergedanlarının akrabası olduğu biliniyor. Bu dev boynuzu gergedanların nesli yapılan araştırmalar sonucu edinilen bilgilere göre yaklaşık olarak 26000 yıl önce tükendi. Ancak olay şu ki bilim insanları tarafından bulunan genç kemikler DNA yapısının yeniden oluşturulması için üzerinde çalışma yapılmasına olanak tanıyor. Zor olsa da bu antik canlıyı bir gün hayata döndürülebilir.
