Cleopatra has found after the death of Julius Caesar in Marcus Antonius a new lover. Antonius gave Cleopatra a part of the Turkish south coast. It includes today's Alanya - formerly Korakesion. The story is still a good template for tourism advertising in the coastal city. Cleopatra is said to have brought sand from the Sahara to Alanya to bathe at the sea. A small bay on the castle hill of Alanya is named after her. And of course the Cleopatra beach: With the alleged sand from the Sahara. Alanya's Cleopatra beach does not really need such stories. It already attracts enough bathers.

😊 without the story I would still want to visit this place, it is truly breathtaking. The sky, the sea, the sort of mystical ambience it has.
