I've never heard of "The Waterboys" before, so it was cool to hear a new (to me) band! They had quite an array of instruments! 😃

I want to share with you a song called "Gutter," which was released on the album "Walking on a Flashlight Beam" by Mariusz Duda (bassist and vocalist of the band "Riverside") under the guise of his solo project called Lunatic Soul. It is a rather melancholy — but entrancing! — lament in Alternative Rock style with a fascinating music video to accompany it! If you wish, you can read the lyrics here

I must give credit to @crescendoofpeace for mentioning Mariusz Duda in a recent post of hers, or I would not have found this awesome song! Thanks, Cori! 😊

Awesome - thanks, @thekittygirl! I love this song as well.

And now I"ll have to go check out the Waterboys . . . not sure how I missed them, since I've been into British and Celtic folk forever!

Posted using Partiko Android

Yes, @thekittygirl and @crescendoofpeace definitely check out the Waterboys! I'mpretty sure this is the first song of theirs that I heard - do you remember this one, @jaynie?

And now I'm off to check out Mariusz Duda!

my best track

planet Earth is blue...

OMG, that Waterboys track brought me right back to the early/mid 90s, when hubby & I finished gutting/renovating his mother's tiny rental property, and shortly after I discovered I was preggers for the first time. So much nostalgia in one video! 😊

Therefore, my song share is another one from that time in my life. Our eldest is named Caillean (pronounced Kay-Lee-An), which comes from a book by Marion Zimmer Bradley, but her nickname is Cailli (pronounced Kay-Lee). This song, from the decade before her birth (aka my emo college years...lol), quite possibly influenced the decision...

Love this song! ;-)

Hard to go wrong with Marillion, especially when Fish was their front man.

Posted using Partiko Android

Agreed, @crescendoofpeace! I still have my Misplaced Childhood CD from a bazillion years ago, and still listen to it here and there. Wicked awesomesauce stuff. 😊

Yeah, my husband introduced me to Marillion when we met, along with a lot of other bands that never got airplay in the US, and I've loved them ever since. ;-)

That's wicked cool, @crescendoofpeace! 😎

Yeah, he was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland, and owned a music store for eleven years in Brooklyn, NY, after he moved to the States.

He specialized in European music, and that's one of the things we actually bonded over, since we already had a number of favorite artists in common, such as Tangerine Dream and Dead Can Dance.

Of course, we both had dads that were jazz musicians, and my mom was a classical pianist, so go figure. ;-)

But his knowledge of European music from the 60s through the early 2000s is pretty impressive. He has introduced me to sssooooooooo many artists I've since come to love!

Okay, so that is beyond wicked awesomesauceness! Tell me he still has a collection of vinyl, and I will officially be too jealous to type. And wowsers - no wonder you and your husband bonded so well!

When I was little, my late father owned an appliance store that also sold albums. Long story short, his entire vinyl collection is now scattered in many directions, and what I had got lost in the shuffle of moving, back way when.

Since I'm already so far down memory lane, I figure I'll mention that at least we still have the Beethoven CD my dad picked out for my husband's birthday many moons ago, so it's all good. 😊

Actually, my husband divested most of his vinyl collection years before we met, but I picked up the slack.

I still have parts of my dad's, mom's and sister's vinyl collections, as well as my own, though two ex-husbands did their part in scattering large parts of them.

But I'm still collecting vinyls, and still a huge fan of the genre . . . no matter how good digital gets, our ears are still analogue, and analogue recordings still sound better!

You know? I have never heard that waterboys song. Solid and I like the Beatles style horns . Though it sounds like all the music I hate now is derivative of this style. ;)

Here is my track of the day from way back! This was one of the first tapes I bought way back then (along with Van Halen 1984.) The reason I am picking this as the song of the day is I recently heard Huey is cutting a brand new album for the first time in 18 years!

WHOOP WHOOP - Killing time until game time eh :P haha! Awesome to have you participate! Looking forward to listening to it @zekepickleman :)

Hey @jaynie here ya go. One of my all time favorites:

Ah I love that 80s vibe with the trumpets and sax on your track of the day. First time I have heard of the waterboys cool. My track of the day is from an album that just came out from my favorite band.

With all of the war mongering going on my mind picked
10 Dubians - Monsters

Hope you like it...

This one gives me goosebumps... every time again

I couldn't help it. lol!
My track for today is 'Gone Away' by The Offspring. Because right now I feel like heaven is SO far away.

Hello! My first time here! I was in the mood to listen to a classical and powerful. This is why I chose this work of art! I hope you like it!

Here I have another singer with a hairstyle similar lol. I like a lot of LP. That is why I bring you this video!

Here I bring you a theme of my adolescence! This was the boom. Currently ... it is still for me a BOOOM hahaha

Never in life may lack a video of The Cranberries

lml ;)

Whaat haha funny to see @petrvl here, he's a member of my native Czechoslovakian community I used to be active a lot in couple of months back :D Steemit is small :)

My today's selection is this oneee...full concert and it's aaabsolutely productive music :)

At Yoga class a couple of weeks ago the instructor played a version of Indigo Girl's Power of Two. Now I keep waking up every morning to this song going through my head.

Proud member of #powerhousecreatives

Thanks for this, I've loved the Indigo Girls for forever, but wasn't familiar with this song. ;-)
