Resist the FOMO, find the hidden Gem

in trading •  8 years ago  (edited)

FOMO stands for "Fear of Missing Out" and is a feeling most traders get when they see an asset sky-rocketing, suddenly that asset is all over the news, everyone seems to be talking about it and you just dont want to be left out on the fun, so you buy and you buy late, but one thing is for sure about FOMO: it wears out!

When FOMO runs out you are left with a bag of coins that are no longer rising, in fact the price is now decreasing. Thats how you become a "Bag Holder".

So how can you prevent it?, well you dont want to be buying Ethereum, Dash or Litecoin at these prices. Sure they could still go up, but by how much more?, how much more will it take for investors who already gained over 500% to start selling?

What you should be doing is looking for those coins that have potential but still have not exploded. Another good option is getting in early on ICOs and selling a few months later when those coins hit the markets.

On that note I recommend looking into the following investments:

  1. Taas
  2. Iconomi
  3. EOS ICO
  4. Tezos ICO

Remember, nothing is for certain but you will not get rich by doing what everyone else is doing!

Best of luck!

As the great Warren Buffet once says: "Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful."

If you can also maintain discipline those also become opportunities to buy when the bag holders want to dump at low prices. Never be one of the sheep.

If you don't understand it don't invest. The ICO process probably will be replaced with a fairer distribution model.

I'm really looking forward for Dan's EOS, can be really huge in many ways :-)

I'll take a look. Thanks!

I thought TAAS was labelled a scam? Or am i missing something? :)

Well I have heard almost all coins being called a scam, however I have reasons to believe that Taas is legit: 1.- They have a real team with real names behind the project; 2.- They delivered the tokens same day ICO ended, 3.- So far they have not broken any promises.

In every crypto investment you have risk... while others are panic selling and calling a project a scam, I am actually acumulating Taas, I am pretty sure this token will be above $2 in a few weeks.

Hmm, good points there. I'm just waiting for good news to come out from them, and the best way to do so is to show results / profit off investments. If that is the case, I'll be really glad because I went rather heavy into TaaS during the ICO. Cheers.

Stay calm, in a few weeks we shall see a good price and you will probably make good profit.

I will hold. Luckily I'm too lazy to set up a liqui account, so I'm "forced to hold". By any chance, are you in the GAME slack? :) Seemed to have seen the name before

nope, not there.. must be a family member lol

Nice call on TAAS, looks like its rebounding nicely. hopefully the upward trend will continue

Yes, @chitty could you expand more on this?

I learned this skill earlier this year. It feels sooo good, because it will pay off in the end, and you rarely end up buying high and selling low. Feels good man ;)

I appreciated this reassuring post. Ethereum is only going up IMHO, what are your thoughts?

Ethereum could still go up, but It is currently up from $10 to almost $100, that is 1000% raise, I am not sure it can go another 1000% in the short-mid term, but other coins sure can, you should be looking into those coins!... people already got rich from Eth

That's fair, Thanks!

Ethereum stands out though - that it provides a platform for other tech being built on it. This is a big difference to plenty of other coins out there. It could well go up still, especially long-term. In the end, no one really knows, and i remember how excited we all were when ETH went from 1USD to 10USD.

That feeling is very awful. I had that felling, thanks a God only with low invests.

And some particular with cryptocurrencies now, is soon or later they are grown up... at least a his development team left it, like happen to me with Shadow Cash (SDC)

Good post.

Yeah have been checking out Taas and Tezos for a while now. Read the position paper on Tezos and I must say I am impressed. I really like their approach with a diff scripting language for formal verification, something Ethereum is missing. I will be buying the ICO on Tezos. But Taas ICO is over fyi.

Yes, Taas ICO is over but prices are still cheap at Liqui and Livecoin, I hope for it to jump once they burn the remaining tokens at mid May.

i slapped this puppy on Twitter. I'm looking into your suggestions. Thanks
