ECB: Regulation of Cryptocurrency not on their List

According to the European Central Bank, the regulation of cryptocurrency is not on the list of priorities.
In an interview with CNBC on wednesday February 7, the European Central Bank (ECB) spoke on the regulation of cryptocurrency.

ECB Supervisory Board Chairman Daniele Nouy added that she had “no clue” whether new regulatory moves on crypto would come from Europe in the future , the involvement of the banks regulated by the EP in the industry was “very, very low”.

“WE ARE VOTING ON THE ISSUE FROM A REGULATORY PERSPECTIVE, WE ARE READY TO DO SOMETHING, IT IS NECESSARY, BUT SO FAR IT IS NOT EXACTLY VERY HIGH ON OUR LIST,” SHE TOLD THE NETWORK.

In December, Europe’s bureaucracy seems less interested in its immediate intervention, despite appeals for an international regulatory effort to on crypto the French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire.

ECB President Mario Draghi said Monday in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, quoted in various media.
