"Let us go for a break," the teacher instructed, still continuing to walk albeit slowly.
The class paused to take a breather, but the teacher was too far away. So, they gave chase.
"Let's pause for a minute," the teacher said. Once again, she walked slower instead of completely stopping.
Some of the class had already sat down on the ground when instructed, so they were slow to get up. They were wary about giving chase, but they didn't know where to go so they had no other options.
"My legs are tired," the teacher mused. "How about we kick our feet up here for a bit?"
When the class realized that the teacher never fully stopped, they turned the other way and walked back to where they came from.
Those cars that just slow down to a halt instead of stepping on the brakes are terrible, aren't they? Oops! I said the violation out loud! But yeah, those kinds of drivers are a real hazard on the road especially when you're driving real fast. They're often a magnet to accidents. I don't really know how you would be able to steer clear of them since you wouldn't know until their rear bumper is dangerously close to your front bumper.
I won't wash my hands clean with this though. When I was first learning how to drive, I routinely forget to step on the brake and just slowed down. This was often a mistake of mine while driving a stick shift. But, ever since I switched to an automatic transmission, I have never committed this infraction. I mean, it's the only way to slow down, right?
Ever had a bad experience with these kinds of drivers? Sound off in the comments section below! :D
What if I told you that I live in a country where we don't really have "STOP" signs? In corners with buildings on it and small side walks (every damm corner in my city (: ) you can't see if there is any car coming on the crossing street, so you approach blinded to almost every corner which means, if you're smart and with little common sense, that you must stop and wait and see if it is safe to go.... but guess what. There are so many awful drivers on the streets and some corners are really scary.
You're right when you say they are a magnet to accidents. I've seen so many that the only relevant ones are the ones I wouldn't like to talk about.

Then I would have to say that your country is almost as bad as mine in terms of the traffic situation haha! Here, there are stop signs, but nobody really follows them. They're kind of like a suggestion, instead of a hard and fast rule. You know, it's quite comforting knowing that your country isn't alone in terms of bad drivers and traffic rules haha! :D
In the case of this contest, I'm pretty sure that the thing s you wouldn't like to talk about will definitely help you get a win, so feel free to vent about it while you have a chance, man! Thanks for stopping by and getting your entry in. Let me know when you make a post so I can return the favor :D

Aww! That's so nice of you to say, mi amigo! I would be happy to help you practice your writing and English. Can't say the same about driving, but what a coincidence, huh? Of all the topics I could've picked, it had to be this :D

I really like the 'teacher/class' metaphor here! I don't think this is something that's much of a problem here... or if it is I haven't noticed it!!

If it's something you haven't noticed, then you're lucky because it isn't a problem at all. I'm glad the metaphor worked! With the number of koans I have to write, I'm a bit stretched thin, and the quality of some aren't up to par as some of the others. Thankfully, I only need to get through a few more haha! Thanks for stopping by, my friend :)

Ah yes, my driving inductor was quite form with me when I learned. He saw me showing down at a junction and add like what are you doing? The people behind won't know you are slowing if you don't step on the brakes.
I thought ah... Good point!

Haha! I think we all have that phase? Or at least that's what I tell myself so that I could sleep at night. I've heard many a honk whenever did that in my youth. I imagine people mighty pissed at me, the way I am to all of these people who slow down instead of stepping on the goshdarm brake pedal.
Thank you for your tale. I shall sleep more soundly knowing that you went through the same thing, dude! :D
