Tragedy in Manchester UK

in tragedy •  8 years ago

A very sad story to be writing about, I know, but I think it deserves some thoughtful, and yes insightful comments.
I am not sure how many people who have joined STEEMIT are Libertarians or Anarchists, but my hope is that there are a lot.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the families of those who lost their lives, and the many others who where injured in that abomination. My hope is that all the perpetrators are found and dealt with quickly.
The comments of the English Prime Minister, Theresa May, are unusual to say the least, when in her first statement after the tragedy, she alluded to the British Army being used at major events, for crowd control, instead of police officers. Does this strike any of the people reading this article, as another move by a fascist government to further deny liberties to the common people. If the army can be used at major events, could they then not also be used to break up protests and such like.
My belief is that armies are supposed to defend a country, and use necessary force against intruders, not to make their own population compliant and fearful.
It is because of this insinuation by the Prime Minister, to use the British Army, that it gives pause for thought ; is the U.K. government in some way involved in this tragedy.
