What is the best workout type to lose fat fast?
When it comes to fat burn workouts there are 2 components that determine how effective the workout is, duration and intensity.
There are many different opinions in the fitness industry about how long and how intense tge perfect fat burning workout should be:
The old school scientific research proves the the body burns the highest amount of fat while doing an aerobic workout at about 60 - 70 percent of your max heart rate for at least 20 minutes, in other words, a mild aerobic activity such as jogging or power walking is the best way to burn fat.
On the other side of the spectrum, the new HIIT approach states that short, intense intervals that last about 30 seconds and push to the maximum heart rate are the best fat burners since the recovery from these workouts burns alot of calories, workouts can be as short as 4 minutes.
I always found that tedious hours of moderate pace cardio on the treadmill wasn't my cup of tea, the results came slow and a couple of weeks off the daily grind, you get the weight and the fat back.
I personally found the short intervals gave me the best result, but finding the right duration took a lot of trail and error and today I am glad to say that I found my perfect fat burning recepie of 20 to 40 minute workouts with high intensity full body, body weight exercises.
Luckily, I found what works for me but is there a rule that someone can follow to understand what type of workout will give the best fat burning results?
Yes, there is, and it is pretty simple, for fat loss, always work out with the highest possible intensity without sacrificing propper form.
In other words, if all you can do is walk around the block, walk as fast as you possibly can, but keep in mind you need to finish the prescribed distance.
If you work out in the gym, do 3 to 5 exercise circuits with no rest and rest after you finish the circuit while choosing weights that will enable you to keep perfect form.
The duration of the workout needs to be as short as possible to complete all the exercises, and next time it needs to be shorter or you need to add more exercises.
If you're walking add a couple hundred meters more and if your hitting the weights add weight or increase the rep count.
And that is it.
A good fat burning workout not only burns calories while you work out but it also burns calories and fat while you recover.
For each person the exact duration to intensity ratio is different, but one thing is clear :
Always train with maximum intensity
Thank you for your time.
With love.
