it’s actually been a while since i’ve actually wrote a blog post that was not part of the formula of my day to day — i’ve got a process that i go through every day that ACTUALLY does not bore me or become too linear. I make a blog post diary entry penpal blockchain styli to @dayleeo and record a couple of videos and get into my moderation works.
it’s got a nice frequency to it and apart from the re-ordering of thoughts in my brain as i restart my day and feel like i’m running in some global simulation there are moment like right now where i feel i’m actually pushing against the sequence — like this morning i was blank when i started writing to dayle yet knew i had a day ahead of me, i could not waste the day.
i realised that this was a perfect time to get back to writing a blog post for me too, it’s been a while and i certainly miss feeling ‘inspired’ to write. Right now we are in the middle of summer time here in the uk and every day when i wake up right now i see orange, reds and just general lovely looking sunshine across the board — high 60’s breaking in the 70’s.
it takes a bit of personal determination to be a freelancer who works remotely, you really have to be the worker and the boss at the same time, you have to be regimented in your work cycle. i’m struggling at the moment with afternoon working mainly down to two things — heat and speed of my aging computer hardware.
as much as i love the bright and warm weather of summer with the beaming sunshine and the perfect opportunity for walks, great food and drinks to ‘enjoy’ the ‘warmth’ i also really enjoy these times as SPRINT times for the coming winter ahead — i’m a sucker for a cold wintery day, don’t ask me why but i think it’s the crisp, alert, wake up call of determination you have to put your brain into as you walk through the cold to a destination.
these are my perfect times to be making, creating, building, i feel more creative and mentally relaxed in summer for sure and more BEAR mode in winter, i still probably aim to do the same amounts of work in winter but i’m still always trying to build on those residuals — i’m always wanting to try and craft or shape time some more to give me mental space from bills and money to allow me to learn new skills i wish i had.
i know in an alternative universe i’m spending time with dayle in or around new york and we are hitting up all the burger, taco and milkshake places in-between just spending time in between shooting b-roll and voiceovers to help us both dial in to adapting to this new opportunity mindset of costing our time inside of the many different expressions of blockchain!
so yeah, i’m kinda feeling that i’m transcending summer time at the moment, i mean it’s out there, it’s happening around me, i’m kinda present in it but i’m not fully immersed into it and enjoying it like others might be with their yearly summer holidays — heck, i’m trying to carve out a life that means i’m always on the standard definition of a holiday.
just switching things up this morning, taking that walk, getting the blood flow moving, switching spaces, changing things up makes all the difference to the way your day turns out i’ve found — if your feeling a little bit jaded or overwhelmed this monday take a bit of time to meditate, then get the blood flow on that hard reset and really figure out what you need for right now, what’s nagging at you — what little adjustment can you make to move things forward?
i’m now ready for the next few hours - centered and ready to record, not forcing it but more flowing into it , transcending the distraction economy and noise from the world outside my plastic windows. let’s see if i can flip the script on the afternoon and get something productive before the world cup england match kicks in eh?
