Recovering from physical Paralysis* was not just a hope, but a possibility and a goal for me. I created a possibility of a full recovery in my mind and lived into it. I had the choice to lay down and die. Instead, I chose to be positive and optimistic while sticking to my plan. In the process, I learned that creating a goal, and sticking to it is actually quite simple.
1-Carefully ponder, reflect and meaningfully create the goal. Make key distinctions that are important for the success of the goal. Consider time and resources needed to accomplish the goal. In my life, the easiest goals to accomplish, are those based on truly wanting to help others.
2-Announce the goal (to the appropriate audience). Don't waste time on the people who don't care. Explain why the goal is important to you, how it will help and what steps you will take to make it come to life.
3-Take action. follow the steps you explained in step 2...and make adjustments as needed. Expect the helping hand of good fortune, which may manifest as blessings along the way.
4-See the goal comes to life. The goal that comes to life may have created even better results than originally planned for.
Corporate management and business professors always talk about SMART goals. (S) Specific, (M) Measurable, (A) Attainable, (R) Realistic, (T) Timely. The SMART framework is great, but if you thoughtfully make a goal you sincerely care about, the rest should come naturally. As long as it is a goal you are truly sincere about, it can be realized. Just stay focused, take action and see the goal come to life.
*Recovering from literal physical paralysis is not always an option. Mind over matter doesn't always literally apply to every situation. Regardless we always have the option to be positive, optimistic and inspired. For other types of Metaphorical paralysis that we may face in life, we can recover and overcome what may seemingly be impossible challenges. Metaphorical paralysis relates to areas in both personal and professional life, which may overlap and which stop our progress. The mindset for recovery is that the stumbling block is actually meant to be a stepping stone to a better life.
