Last mile electric transportation options.steemCreated with Sketch.

Honestly.. Your absolute BEST dollar value deal for electric transportation around town right now.. is any 2011 to 2014 Nissan leaf. You can get a full car for 4 people with surprising storage only 4 years old for under 7000$. They look a bit odd, but have you seen a Segway or a One wheel ?

But, if you don't want a parking spot, or really want the wind in your hair.. here's some other ideas.

First check if your city has something like Limebike A per ride ebike rental to get some experience.

If you're going portable last mile, an electric longboard is probably best..it's well known tech, you can get wheels to suit your terrain and there's lots of enthusiasts and competition to keep reviews & manufacturers honest.

Boosted 2nd Generation Dual+ Electric Skateboard - for very urban it's the most well known i think.. bit pricey. or Evolve Skateboards – Bamboo GTX Street Electric Longboard Skateboard – 31 Mile Range – 26 mph Top Speed –Digital LCD Screen Remote Control – Lithium-Ion Battery

There's a ton of cheaper electric boards out now but check reviews and if rain is a concern make sure you get a weather hardened board.

Not into boards and don't have far to go? Bargain portable mobilty you could try ACTON R5 Rocket Skates, 5 mile range 1.5 hr charge time

Just want a bike with some pedal assist.. which will totally get the job done? Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Mountain Bike with Lithium-Ion Battery

Or a little more upscale but still looks like a bike.
ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike with 26" Super Lightweight, Large Capacity Lithium-Ion Battery (36V 250W), and Shimano Gear (Black Frame)

My own pragmatic suggestion is to spend less on a well recommended & recognized last year model of a thing you're comfortable riding, not a new weird thing..

If you spend half as much now you can likely expect the technology to be twice as good next year and you can get newer again for half the price and be better educated by experience on your actual wants.

Or, save on gym membership, get an old fashioned bike or board and coast to work, push hard on the way home.

And always ride safely out there.

Easy as that.

I picked up an Ancheer folding e-bike. It has its problems, to be sure, but for first mile/last mile coverage, and I don't want to spend 90 minutes on the bus coverage, it really does fit the role.

I'm sure that some of my problems are going to be simple enough to fix: the bike really could use a once-over by someone who knows what they're doing, and the hub motor probably could use some proper lithium grease on the gears.

I don't see myself using any kind of a skateboard. I don't balance well on them.
