One of the major sources of trash and pollution that is making the famous Manila bay area filthy was the infamous Pasig river which both are now being cleaned. The physical trashes that floats and being deposited in the Manila Bay beaches are coming from illegal settlers beside the Pasig river so they are now being demolished and the occupant therein are being relocated to somewhere decent for living conditions.
These squatters along the Pasig river makes the river their toilet and their garbage disposal area so in return when the Pasig river flows its load to the sea the Manila bay gets affected with floating trash and it gets all the loads of garbage unto its beaches.
Now the water pollution in the river however originates from businesses and households that dumps its waste water to the Pasig river but now the government is cracking down on these establishments to make them conform into safe standards of proper waste water management so that they won't contribute into polluting the river and the manila bay.
I am just happy about this development because I have now in this country of mine a leader with a political will to make good things happen in favor of the environment and the people despite being bashed for his stance against corruption, oligarchy, illegal drugs (pusher/traders/addicts), terrorism, red tape, illegal/abusive mining, infrastructure projects like subway system, hiways, healthcare reform, free tertiary education from state universities, wage hike for government workers and pensioners, ways to seek lowering electricity bills, etc.
