This is a beautiful pitcher plant in Kanneliya Rain forest, Sri Lanka. This specie of pitcher is called "Badhura" and its scientific name is Nepenthes distillatoria. This carnivorous plant has a lid like structure at the top of its sack lick container. Once an insect, in seek of honey gets into the sack, this lid immediately closes making it impossible for the insect to go out o the sack. Then slowly, an acidic substance fills the sack which helps the plant to digest its pray.
Interested about its mechanism? Yeyyy. here's more to learn
Here's a video showing how this plant catches a pray.
