The travel plan for visiting Gosaikunda was made weeks before actually going there. It was after the 7th-semester examination that a group of friends made the plan. During the planning, we were around 8 people ready to go to Gosainkunda but when the actual time came to go there, only 4 people were left. With all the plannings and arrangements needed to go there, we started our journey on August 25th, 2017. We met at machhapokhari bus stop and bought tickets for the first bus going to Rasuwa. The bus ride started at 6:30 AM and reached trishuli at around 10:30 AM, we stopped here for our breakfast.
From trishuli it was a very fun ride, the roads were nice and the scenery was beautiful. It felt like we were travelling above the clouds. We could literally see the clouds beneath us.
The journey had just started for us, the weather was cold yet we felt so energetic to start the journey. At 2 PM we reached Dhunche, Rasuwa from where the actual journey was to start. From kathmandu to dhunche, we were tired of travelling on the bus. After we reached dhunche, without taking any rest we started walking towards our destination, Gosaikunda.
Note: Gosaikunda is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake located at an altitude of 4380 metres.
On the way there was a bridge and lots of small waterfalls, where we took a quick bath too. We met 3 Australian guys, out of them one had already visited Gosaikunda once and for two of them it was a first-time visit to Nepal. The Australian guys and us 4 friends were hiking together for few hours until it started to get really dark and started raining. We found a small house where we could stay the night and continue our journey the next day but four of us didn't stay there whereas the Australian guys stopped there the day's journey. We continued our hiking even at night and reached our planned checkpoint for the tour, chandanbaari. We reached there at 9 PM. It was so dark and so cold and it was at around 2000 meter altitude. It was very difficult to walk and catch a breath at the same time while walking late in cold. We had to stop around 10 times just to walk 1 kilometers.

We found a nice hotel and stopped our that days journey there. We ordered some food, (rice, dal, omelette, fried potato, achar). Until the food was ready we made fire and tried to keep us warm. It was so cold and on top of that it started raining.
Fig: Delicious food with ghee made from Nak milk.
After having our meal, we went for sleep and to keep ourselves warm, we had to use two thick blankets.
