A Trip Back To School

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello fellow steemians, it's @aauthespian1 here again wishing y'all a happy weekend😉❤.
Today was indeed a thrilling day for me, from when i woke up till this very moment of writing this post. Because i had a trip back to college(university).
Lagos to Edo State

I'll take you guys through from pick up point (destination) to arrival point (college), I hope you don't get bored. Firstly I'll like to first tell y'all where the journey started.

Yes, the popular megacity in Nigeria and one of the biggest cities and best tourist Centre in Africa. That's my abode and place of residence, as early as 6:00am i was already at the park to embark on my journey. Things were quite easy and we started the road trip.

Once we passed the city state of Lagos the next state is Ogun State

  • Ogun State:

The homeland of the Yoruba people, it shares close border with Lagos State (the mega city). I actually didn't notice when we passed this state because of the beautiful places around it, also some private colleges like Babcock University, Hallmark University etc, Ogun State is indeed great. After Ogun state comes Ondo state.

  • Ondo State:

The state contains eighteen Local Government Areas, the major ones being Akoko, Akure, Okitipupa, Ondo, and Owo. The majority of the state's citizens live in urban centers. The big government universities in Ondo state are the Federal University of Technology Akure, Akure and the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.

The ethnic composition of Ondo State is largely from the Yoruba subgroups of the Akoko, Akure, Okitipupa, Ilaje, Ondo, and Owo peoples. Ijaw such as Apoi and Arogbo populations inhabit the coastal areas; while a sizable number of the Ondo State people who speak a variant of the Yoruba language similar to Ife dialect reside in Oke-Igbo.

One thing that is special about this state is that it is a point of relaxation where every travelers from parts of Nigeria stop for a little recess. We had a stop at UBA foods a new restaurant in that area

I had a wonderful meal there tho it was relatively expensive, i had to get something to eat before continuing my journey. The trip from Ondo through to the next takes almost an hour and half (1½hr). The next state is Edo State, but you'll get to it's capital first which is Benin City

Benin city is known for its love of royalty, the bini people embrace it as their utmost culture and are respected for it. The only had experience i had during my trip was in Benin because our bus had a little glitch and we were forced to visit the mechanic's shop which made our journey a little bit longer.

We arrived at their head office in Benin and were asked to wait while the repair was ongoing

After waiting for close to an hour we continued the journey and we finally came to the end of the journey, the town that beholds and accommodates my great institution.
