Romania is a beautiful country with a lot of places to discover and to explore. The mountains are spectacular, the beach at the Black Sea is enormous ( less crowded in June and end of September), the Delta of Danube an amazing place where fishermans will be happy to be... Rich in culture and history, this country deserves to be visited.
go see constanta, it's a city on the shores of the black sea that was established in 600 bc and has been inhabited ever since and it's one of the largest ports in europe.
go see the danube delta, the second largest delta in europe, it's about 2000 square miles of wilderness, created by the river danube as it flows into the black sea. it was formed about 6000 years ago when the sea levels rose in the area. it is home to over 320 species of birds and it hosts 23 natural ecosystems rich with unique flora and fauna.
go see sarmizegetusa regia, the ruins of the fortress capital of the dacians, a people defeated by the romans 2000 years ago. it's in gradistea de munte in hunedoara county, romania, and it's a unesco heritage site.
go see the cave with bones, a cave complex located near anina city in caras-severin county in romania, it's an archeological site where some of the oldest human remains in europe were found, dated to around 37,800 bc.
go see the village of lunca, in vanatori-neamt, in romania, near it is the oldest known salt extraction facility in the world, dated to around 6050 bc, called poiana slatinei.
I'm starting off the first part of my month long trip through Central and Eastern Europe in Romania. I'm unbelievably excited - travelling through Bucharest, Brasov, Sighisoara, and Cluj. I'll probably wish I had longer there, but I'm moving to the UK, so wayyyy closer to get to in the future!
