A look back through my travel photos from before Steemit

This is me hopping off the boat just off Pulau Tioman, Malaysia for my first ever scuba dive or is it Ko Tao in Thailand??

You know what, I'm not 100% sure... Let's assume that it is Pulau Tioman for the sake of this post. This idyllic little island should be on everyone's itinary that visits Malaysia. It was probably our favorite location in Malaysia. The scuba dive was everything I expected and more, and after this introduction to diving, I went on to complete my Padi diving week long course in Ko Tao later on in our adventure.

The diving off Pulau Tioman is renowned for really clear water and great visibility, and so it played out, we could see for 30 to 50 metres on front of ourselves. we saw all manner of sea creatures. There were turtles, reef sharks and barracuda.

Time to get into diving

I vowed to really get into diving when I got home, and guess what! I haven't dived since! Ha ha... Sometimes life just gets in the way... Some day, I'll get back in the water for a dive, but for now soccer and golf will have to do. Surfing is another favorite pass time that I have not done nearly enough of recently... So, there is my new years resolution sorted for 2019... Get out for a dive and get down to the west coast for a spot of surfing..

I traveled around South East Asia and Australia back in 2007/2008 with my then girlfriend/now wife.

It was a trip of a lifetime and I loved every minute of it.

I am going to upload a photo every day.

I'll upload another one tomorrow.

Peace Out

Interesting I'm afraid to go under water.

Give it a go sometime... Overcome that fear... It is well worth it..

I spent almost a week on Tioman island - it was pretty darn amazing, even if the plane we caught there from KL was a the least reassuring plane I've ever been on - I swear to God I could see daytime in the gaps where the panels meet.

Nice one man, ya it's some spot... So chilled out and tranquil.. We got a boat across, so didn't have to do the tiny plane approach like you, which sounds like a scary experience! The view from up there must have been incredible over the island though, where you could see the turquoise water, reefs, set against the backdrop of trees... I could do with a week or two there right now!! :o)
