The rise of new lodges emerging in Yogyakarta provides many options for travelers to decide where to stay during the holidays there. Ranging from hotel network to lodging with unique concepts were present in the City of Gudeg. Is Remen Room and Breakfast, a unique inn, located in the vicinity of a large campus area in Jogja that is worth trying if was in the City Student.
Early acquaintance with this inn when I fun scrol-scrol list of cheap lodging on Agoda page. Then meet me with Remen Room Bed and Breakfast Yogyakarta.
The display of photos displayed on the online hotel booking page is very compelling at first glance. Then continue reading the reviews of guests who have stayed there. On average almost all guests give positive comments about the inn.
Day after day passed, until finally I have free time to mlipir moment to the city of Jogja. Ah, there is always a longing to return to this city.
First impression upon entering the parking area at Remen Room and Breakfast is ....... this hotel is quite instagram-able really yak! Just like the photos posted on the online hotel booking page I saw the other day!
Together with the receptionist on duty, I walked across to the room, past the open kitchen area and up the steps that are not how wide to the second floor. I get room number 12, one of the rooms with the most beautiful view there. The view of the "hanging garden" in the central courtyard can be enjoyed directly from the front door of the room.
Room Room
First impression on entering room was clean and felt minimalist. Room type business room that I ordered was not how wide. Consists of one queen-size bed, work desk, flat-screen television, closet area, air conditioner and bathroom. The walls of the rooms are painted in plain white color without many additional accessories.
Although impressed simple, but still feels pretty artsy. This can be seen from the small details such as giving a pillow covered with batik motifs, so the feel of the area of the bed dominated by white color does not feel plain.
Partboard headboard mattress made of wood with an abstract shape and then given a dull white base paint makes a vintage impression. And so did the finishing of colors on the work table, dressing table, even up to the door frames, all done with the same painting technique that gives the impression of vintage in the room.
The selection of furniture sizes feels right, giving the impression of the room to be felt quite relieved while living in it although the room size is quite small.
It's just that there are less things I think, that is cooling the room less work fast. Especially when I came when the air Jogja was hot-hot. Had to wait a while the new room was cold.
Bathroom and Toilet
The bathroom and toilet room was also minimalist. The size of the room is not too spacious but seemed quite relieved. Toilet, shower area and sink are located in one room without any partition. If you're the type of person whose body is "pretty excited", the water will spurt everywhere. But quietly, the exhaust fan in the bathroom works pretty well anyway, so the room quickly dries.
The drainage channels run smoothly without any clogged constraints, so no parlu worry if the bathroom flooded after use. Hot water and cold water run well. Toiletries are also complete, there is bath soap, shampoo, brush and toothpaste, towels, and toilet paper is available. The cleanliness of the rooms and toilets was kept to the maximum so that the stains of the crust or moss were not visible.
Breakfast Menu
It seems almost impossible to find lodging with 200-thousands rate that includes breakfast service. One of the things I like about Remen Room and Breakfast Yogyakarta is the breakfast menu served. The menu is simple, serving only bread and home cooking. However, the choice of side dishes and vegetables quite a lot. Not stingy like other inns with the same rate, where on average they only give a choice of bread or fried rice menu as breakfast.
The breakfast menu at this inn changes every day (my experience staying a few nights here). They provide Javanese cuisine as their menu. There are oseng-oseng, orek tempe, eggplant balado, fried rice noodles, omelet, fried milkfish, bakwan corn, vegetable lodeh, and so on. Anyway the home-cooked menu really. It tastes good enough, not too sweet, right for the Javanese tongue like me.
