Good afternoon everybody!
I am back with the continuation post from yesterday where I showed ya'll a little glimpse of the old city of Jaipur. Today I am gonna share some pictures showing the process of sand casting.
The craftsmen were making a javelin or a spear through this process. The people were there kind enough to show us the entire process not once but twice! As soon as I entered the space, I knew it was gonna be a little tough as there were tiny metal particles dispersed all around.
As we approached the inner parts it got hotter and hotter and I stopped as soon as I saw this!
Dangerous as well as beautiful! Don't you think?
I couldn't get a final shot of the weapon but I sure did understand how they are made. It was definitely worth a watch :) Then we proceeded to buy some metallic wires needed for some assignment. Can you see the famous Nahargarh fort on the top of that hill?
This instrument is used to measure the thickness or the diameter of a wire which in technical terms is called "gauge".
Can you believe these pieces as tiny as these can be made in a machine?
These little blocks might look cute but they are used for doming flat sheets of metal by punching them. Tough, aren't they?
Okay, this is something that I found really interesting. These tiny copper balls are used for adding impurities in gold! Yep, felt like a badass holding these :D
It was really sweet of the shop people to offer us some tea. Made my day for sure :D <3
Another piece made by sand casting :)
It was a really nice day. Exhausting for sure as most of us were sleep deprived from the night before due to some work. But I look forward to have some more visits and gather more in-depth understanding.
Keep Creating
Lots of Love <3
