The 3rd Station of Mukumbari Cableway (La Aguada) - Mérida, Venezuela

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

Let's start by the basics:

Venezuela is known as a country that's passing trough a very serious economic, social and political situation due to the goverment of Nicolás Maduro, but in the other hand, Venezuela has a very unique weather, because we can find a hot desert in Coro - Falcon, cold mountains in the region of Los Andes, and even ice in the Pico Espejo that is the highest mountain in the country, and can be reached by the Mukumbari Cableway.

The Mukumbari Cableway (know in Venezuela as Sistema Teleferico de Mukumbari) is the highest and the second longest cableway in the world, it's located in Mérida, Venezuela and has five stations:

  1. Barinitas
  2. La Montaña
  3. La Aguada (THIS POST)
  4. Loma Redonda
  5. Pico Espejo

The first two stations are not much special, so I decied to post about the last three of them: La Aguada, Loma Redonda and Pico Espejo (I'll be covering "Loma Redonda" and "Pico Espejo" in next posts)

This station is located at 3.452 meters above the sea level

This is a cabin of the cableway, where the passengers get in to start the trip all the way up to Pico Espejo

In this station you can enjoy a great view to the center of the city of Mérida

Also, the people of Mérida are known as a very receptive people with the tourists

In my opinion the main attraction of La Aguada is the huge viewpoint to the city of Mérida
