God's Own Country- Kerala. Why Should you Tour #INDIA V

in travel •  8 years ago  (edited)

Kerala, nicknamed as God's Own Country!

Another beautiful state in India where I am originally from! But I did not live in Kerala most of my life; I am sort of unlucky in that way(the place where I lived most of my life will come up in one of my near future posts!).

kerala.PNG

If you remember my previous post on the Western Ghats, you might recall me mentioning about how the ranges stretch all the way from the west to the south and that is where this beautiful state of Kerala is the extreme south left!

It's a narrow strip of land with the Ghat section falling on its east and the Arabian sea on its west.

Let me list out a few famous and few less famous attractions!

Munnar

Munnar 1,600 m above sea level, this hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India.

Konni

At Konni people flock in for Coracle rafting or Bowl Boat riding and to view a picturesque forest patch!

Kallar

Kallar is a famous spot for picnickers and birdwatchers who would love a bit of trekking aswell!

Akkulam

Akkulam is a famous spot again to picnickers who love calm nature and even better for family oriented fun!

Mattancherry

Mattancherry is famous for synagogues and the Jewish town and churches and architecture and much more!

Malakkappara

Malakkappara is largely an unexplored location so the pictures of it are not readily available and for the ones who been there will tell you of this place as an amazing location for backpackers!

Its tough to go on listing so I will share random pics of forests and Wild life Sanctuaries in Kerala

These were just a random few I could get hold of!

There are a lot of places like Wayanad, Sabrimala, Gavi, Bekal, Kuttanad, Mallapuram and many others I dont know of! Its simply a never ending list for a state of this size!

Lord Curzon, Viceroy of India

from 6 January 1899 – 18 November 1905

I am personally from Alleppey, a place famous for its back waters and house boats. It is one of the most amazing experiences you will ever have. Alleppey was described as ‘Venice of the East’ by Lord Curzon.

Some pictures of my hometown Alleppey!

Amazing mountain ranges, beautiful beaches, enchanting woods & forests, waterfalls, extremely calm back waters: you will have possibly everything you could ask for from nature!

I need to apologize, it is a not place that you can put into words, its an experience truly indescribable!

Now you tell me, How incredible is India??

Nice travel with awesome pictures, followed :)

Thank you :)

@alexkoshy - I like your post. Full of nature, amazing shots and well described!

I have one suggestion for you. Please scale down your picture size. Right now they are taking alot of time in loading. (Even I'm on a high speed internet still its taking time). It seems you are putting raw photographs (5-8MB size!!)

This will frustrate followers of your blog. Once you scale down the image size you will see increase in traffic on your blog. You can use Photoshop for that.

Stay connected!

Hey @cryptoqu33n, sorry I just noticed your comment after two days, my bad! Thank you for your suggestion! But hey, help me understand it better! Is it the same thing as resizing it with MS Picture Viewer?

@alexkoshy - I never used MS picture viewer, so I'm not sure how it works. I use professional tools like Photoshop and Adobe LR.

You can refer this link for more information. You need to scale down your picture size from 5-8 MB (Raw or High Quality JPEG picture) which takes a lot of time to upload. Once you scale it down (800kb - 1mb) it bring the image quality a bit low, however, its not that much noticeable on web browser and bring enhanced user experience.

You are compromising on picture image size to bring better user experience and that will bring more followers to you.

Steem ON!
