Greetsiel Germany, a beautiful getaway.

Greetsiel is a small town on the northern part of Germany. Me and my fiancé visited this town after visiting Langeoog island (I wrote about this island on my previous blog). I never expected it to be one of the beautiful towns I have ever visited because it's not really a tourist spot most of the people would visit. I was pretty curious because my fiancé said that it's very beautiful.
While walking through the outskirts of the town I wasn't really impressed because they were just the typical german houses I would see, even where my fiancé lives. But when we were getting nearer the town centre it was very beautiful!

You will fine this very old windmill (seeing a windmill is something new for me, since we don't have windmills here in Italy) . And inside this windmill you'll fine a very cute cafè. But it was too full that's why we didn't go there. At the back of this windmill is a small cute river (not included in the photo).

We continued walking throught the town and there were these cute stores where you can buy some of the town's products, homemade goods, shells etc. And you can also find some food stands where they sell fish and chips and also other delicacies. There are lots of restaurants too, so you have a variety of choices.
You can also fine a really pretty port where there are some vintage looking boats (in my opinion).

And behind these boats there you can see some typical northern german houses and ice cream shops and also some antique shops. In fact there was this ice cream shop where people would fall in line for hours. I just can remember the name of the shop, but if you would go there, you will find it right away because it's near the port.

Going around this town wouldn't take you a whole day like, but I think it's worth a visit because it's such peaceful town and it actually is very 'homey'. You don't feel the stress and pressure to actually see the whole place like what you usually feel when you have to tour a big city.
If you would like to have a weekend getaway, or a romantic getaway with your partner, I would recommend this town. Just to change the ambience. And i assure you, you won't regret it, also because the people here are so warm and hospitable.
