Belvedere. Vienna.

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

Belvedere is a complex of two Baroque palaces in Vienna, the capital of Austria. It was built in the 18th century as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy and now it is one of the most famous museums in the world.

The Upper Belvedere is a gallery today. Here you can see paintings from the 19th century. By the way, the famous painting "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimt is a property of this museum.

The Lower Belvedere is a Baroque museum. There is a beautiful park with lots of fountains and statues between two palaces. If you are fond of contemporary art, you should visit the Orangery. If you don't want to go inside the palaces, you can just enjoy the park, the entrance is free, so a lot of people do jogging here.
