Travelling is one of my favorite things to do, but unfortunately I don't get to do it as much as I would like to. When I'm older I want to travel around the world. I'll be honest, I know my plans are a bit naive and that many post-college adults don't end up travelling the world, but it's fun to dream so I've compiled a top ten list of places I want to visit before I'm 30. This isn't to say that I don't want to go after 30 of course! I'm also not saying that I have to actually visit all of these places, but it would be nice to. By the time I'm ready to start travelling, my list might have changed, but for now this is what I've got.
Now, onto the list:
10. Las Vegas
Las Vegas places 10th on my list because I've actually already been there, but I would like to go again and experience it as an adult because I am well aware of the fact that Vegas is definitely marketed towards adults, not teens or kids. I would like to go with my friends sometime after college to take it all in with a fresh set of eyes not to mention the freedom of being fresh out of college. (Again I see the naïveté but I can still wish)
9. Orlando, Florida
Orlando has a reputation preceding it for sure. It's full of attractions such as Universal Studios, and of course, Disneyworld! This may sound strange, but I've never been to disneyworld before, and you can that that I will step foot on those grounds before my 30th birthday. The attractions in Orlando might be for a slightly younger audience, but I think anybody can enjoy the magic of Disney, no matter how old!
8. Hawaii
I would love to visit the beautiful island state of Hawaii! I've never been there's before and something I've wanted to do for a while now. It doesn't matter which island I stay on, in fact maybe I'll stay on all of them! Hawaii is rich with culture and beauty that I want to discover. Hawaii is the kind of place where I would like to go alone, or with a close friend.
7. New Zealand
New Zealand, very similar to Hawaii in that it's got both beaches and mountains, but different when it comes to culture. Culture is the main reason I want to visit New Zealand, along with the natural beauty everywhere you look. One word I'd use to describe New Zealand is serene. Which is funny, because I've always wanted to hang glide over the mountains as well as learn some extreme water sports like water skiing and surfing.
6. London, England
London, and England in general, are two places where my family has a lot of history. When I was younger I used to be crazy about visiting England, but I wasn't really sure why. Now I know that I want to go to experience things that I've never experienced before, and look at how it's so different from Canada and the US. I'd also like to visit some of my family that lives there, I haven't been to London in 9 years and I'm aching to go back.
5. Paris
Top five! Beauty, culture, language, art, and food are only a few of the reasons why I would love to visit Paris. I can imagine myself sitting on the balcony of my tall hotel, watching the Eiffel Tower light up as the sun begins to set, or sitting in a calm outdoor cafe with a croissant on my plate, reading a novel. Or I could be inside the Eiffel Tower herself, dining on a culture rich meal in the exclusive restaurant, as I watch paris come to life below me. No matter how I think of Paris, it's always in a way that I know I'll love.
4. Amsterdam
Amsterdam is just so pretty! It's such a quaint, cute town that I would love to spend some time in to escape the city. I most look forward to the river boats that travel in the canals of the city. The main reason reason amsterdam is so appealing to me is that it's a whole change of scenery, and it's not like any where around where I am.
3. Greece
Just imagine being on vacation in Greece, living right above the sparkling blue water! Greece is so absolutely beautiful, and a popular vacation spot for people all around the world. I would love to soak up the sun on my balcony, or go swimming in the Greek waters. During my time in the country, I'd also like to learn more about their culture, particularly Greek mythology which has always interested me. It would be like seeing lol of my story books come to life.
2. Costa Rica
Costa Rica has everything you could want in a holiday! Beaches, ocean, volcanoes, mountains, towns, historic sites, temples, Andy of course, rainforest! I love everything about Costa Rica, but my favorite thing to see would be the jungle. I'd love to jump down a waterfall while hiking through the forest. I also want to encounter some of the wildlife, such as toucans, tree frogs, exotic snakes, and so many more, colourful animals! It's a whole ecosystem out there. When I'm not hiking, I'll be on the beach or out in the ocean scuba diving with sharks, dolphins, and colourful reefs. When I'm not doing any of those things, I'll be visiting temples and learning about the rich history and culture of the Costa Rican people.
1. The Swiss Alps
At first place on my list, The Swiss Alps! So beautiful, so serene, so quiet and peaceful, I absolutely love it! I love the combination of snow and warmth, and the greenest grass you'll ever see. I'd stay in a cabin up in the mountains and wake up to a fantastic sunrise over the mountains every morning. The sunsets would be even better. Just imagine how fresh the air up there would be! I would just lay in the green grass soaking up the sun, or I'd ride a hot baloon above the mountains. Visiting the Swiss Alps would be my ultimate destination!
Thank you for reading this post! Where would you like to visit?
