Living In Chile!

in travel •  7 years ago

My family and I moved to Chile a few years ago. We sold pretty much all of our stuff. We only moved with 2 suitcases each. And thats it. We packed our clothes and important stuff. I was 16 when we moved. I wasn't really thinking when I packed some of the stuff. I got rid of so much of it. And now that I am older I wish there was some stuff that I kept. But I can't let that give me anxiety, lol.

We lived in 4 houses while we were there and each of them had breathtaking views! The mountains were amazing! Oh, and the sunsets were so beautiful!

There were a few things that were hard there. Well, one of them was the language, they spoke Spanish. In order to make friends I had to speak it. But I didn't really like talking to people lol. So I didn't have any friends until english speaking ones came along! I did learn a little bit, but I absolutely hated speaking it. The main reason was because I was embarrassed and nervous speaking it.

I did meet my husband in Chile. He came to visit his brother who was married to my sister. He was there for 2 weeks, and after he left we started messaging each other and next thing you know he moved to Chile a few months later to be with me. We were together for 6 months when he proposed to me (on a volcano), and got married 6 weeks later. My husband is the bestest person ever! He is amazing and I am super duper thankful for him!

My husband, my family, and I moved back last year in May. We had many awesome adventures there! I know there are SO many more to come!

I would totally recommend going to Chile for a visit. Summer there is beautiful! You will definitely enjoy it!

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for reading!

Thanks for sharing your experience and way in life and with us.

Chile looks like an awesome, great place and I ´m working on it to see it in real life one day! 👀

I wish you & your family a great year and all the best!

your @mynaturebody 🌱

Thank you! 😃😃😃

Such a stunning place. When we moved to Cambodia we sold so many things too. It felt kinda liberating! The language is the only issue here too... slowly learning. Working at home every day is not helping... glad you both found each other... you guys are so cute. All the best to you and your family. Glad that you are able to travel as one big family. Would love that too!

Aw thanks! ❤

Wow, these pictures are amazing. The Landscape is really breathtaking. Thanks for sharing!

Looks like a wonderful place to visit. There is so much of the world that most of us never get to see.

Right.

Beautiful life story

These are beautiful! I especially like the mountains by the bright blue lake. That’s lovely. Great post!

Thank you, @itsallasong. It's a bummer you never got to see any of it. But, maybe you will someday. :)

Nice photo 😍 Good quality 😊

Thank you.

Wow, lovely story and lovely looking place! It's always hard learning another language. I lived in Japan for 6 years and had to learn Japanese so I could explore. Tough, but fun :) Safe travels!

Thank you. Oh wow. 👍👍

Wow amazing photography thanks for this sharing post of luck...

Thank you.

Great photos and beautiful love story :) Moving houses can be hard , I have done a lot. But with views like that, I dont mind moving at all !

Aw Thank you!

Exactly!!

What a lovely story! The photos are remarkable and Chili looks to be a very beautiful place. It's a pity you had trouble learning the language as you would have learnt more, but in the long run you found your match and are happy. You have vital memories and lovely places to remember, accompanied by your photos , which are very good. I hope that you learnt something of their culture and food as well, as these will remain with you far longer. Happy Steeming!

Thank you! It really is a lovely story!

The pictures are breathtaking! It must be so beautiful there! Sometimes I wish to pack my stuff and go somewhere, but I don't want to do it alone. Where are you from originally?

Thanks!! I am originally from Idaho.

Looks super pretty @alovelymess, I wonder what are the names of the area the photos were taken at!

1st pic: the view from our first house in a town called LIifen.

2nd pic: also in Llifen.

3rd pic: we were looking at a property in Llifen and this was the view.

4th pic: was on a volcano, but you can't tell lol.

5th pic: is on a beach in the same town Llifen, a few minutes away from our house.

6th pic: petrohue river. It was an hour away from where we lived.

Very detailed explanation, thank you! So all of these are sorta around LIifen, it looks like a sweet place to check out, thanks!

The 4th and the 6th picture are closer to the last town we lived in, which was Puerto Varas.

Ah I see, cool. I am curious about Latin America, kinda want to check it out sometime!

Oh cool! I would definitely recommend Puerto Varas if you ever go to Chile! Its a tourist town, especially in the summer. We lived there like 2 years. Its really pretty there!

Sounds like something I would be into! I really want to go somewhere warm that has a beach, beautiful nature and a ton of seafood and exotic drinks haha

Chile sounds like a good place for that, lol!

If you go, you have to try pisco sour! Its a lemon flavored alcoholic drink! Its the national drink. My husband liked it so much he brought some from Chile.

looks beautiful :) Nice post !

Thank you.

really beautiful and natural pictures

Thanks.

Sweet story! What brought to Chile? Also you are soooooo young! Wow! So lucky to travel.

The simplest is answer is: God.
Aw thanks! It's fun to travel.

Thank you!

Some lovely photographs and you both looks great together :)

You and your husband are so cute together, and your story is so romantic, especially that he moved to be with you after he'd known you only for 2 weeks. He must have known you were the one for him.
I'd love to visit Chile, the views are gorgeous

Thank you so much! Yes, it's so crazy to think about that. He is amazing!

Chile is really so pretty! 😃

Very beautiful place
I will plan a trip to Chile very soon.

Awesome.

I’ve been to Chile a number of times before and have wanted to return for an extended stay. Here are just a few of the things that drew me to the country...

Chile is a First World alternative in Latin America, with Latin America’s highest standard of living. In fact, throughout the Americas, only the United States and Canada rate higher for overall standard of living. The water is drinkable, phone and Internet are fast and reliable, and the public transit system is modern and efficient. The highways are modern, fast, and well-maintained

Oh awesome. What town did you stay at?

*second bestest person because you are the bestest

Beautifully written post babe! I am SO glad I decided to visit there, it is the best thing i've ever done! And i'm SO glad you sent that message! 😜

I love you, beautiful! And i'm super thankful for you!

Aww you're so sweet!!! I love you too! ❤❤❤

Beautiful photos @alovelymess....and a very nice story of your relationship with your husband. So your sister and you married brothers and they sisters. That's kind of convenient for family time on special occasions. :)

The photo with the driftwood sticking out of the water is stunning...I love how you set it up.

Thank you! Yes, that was pretty funny to us! I actually knew my brother in law for 10 years before I met my husband lol. We went to the same church but somehow never saw each other and I knew pretty much every one there. We also have pictures where we are standing by each other at church events lol. So crazy to us.

That's hysterical. At the right time it happened. I love stories like this.

Exactly! Me too. :)

Such stunning scenery! Sounds like you had a great time and what's not to love about meeting your husband there too! You guys look happy and cute together!

Thanks! ❤

Proposed on a volcano? Talk about a HOT proposal huh :D Chile looks beautiful !

LOL!
