As an Acehnese I personally feel strange when I hear statements from friends from outside Aceh or from abroad, who claim that they are afraid to visit Aceh because Aceh is considered scary with various regulations, abstinence and customs that apply. Nevertheless, such assumptions are a natural thing I think, because maybe they do not know much about Who and How Aceh really is. That's why I was stirred to write something to give an answer to their anxiety, which hopefully can be a clarification of the assumptions about Aceh that haunt them all this time.
What is Aceh?
Aceh is a special area that exists in Indonesia, this specificity is contained in the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia which is the legal foundation in the country of a thousand islands. On the basis of this specificity, Aceh became the most unique area with all the differences that it had with other regions. The special autonomy given by Indonesia to Aceh is not without foundation, it is said in history that Aceh was once a great kingdom that is respected by the World whose empire is known to be great and tough in governing the wheels of government by promoting the prosperity and peace of the life of its people.
History of the struggle of Aceh is also widely written in historical books, with a series of well-known Acehnese Heroes. In fact, in some of the articles I read there mentioned that Independence of Indonesia is also independent of the role of Aceh which provides assistance, in terms of merging independence and basic capital to the effectiveness of state affairs, so Indonesia has become a whole country as it is today.
On the basis of that struggle and sacrifice, I think Aceh obtains Special Rights to regulate households from Indonesia. However, Aceh remains part of Indonesia, which is legally adhered to Pancasila's ideology and is subject to and under the umbrella of Indonesian law. This means that other applicable laws in Indonesia remain in force in Aceh, except in matters which have become the specialized legal domain for Aceh which are governed by the UUPA (Aceh Government Act).
In essence, there is no need to doubt the laws in Aceh because it is not too much different from the laws in other areas in Indonesia. But you only need to respect the specific rules that are definitely not out of the UDD provisions of the Republic of Indonesia.
What's Different In Aceh ?
Answering these questions can certainly provide answers to all questions about the difference between Aceh and other regions in Indonesia. Different here is not in the negative context that may make Aceh's face to be scary, but different here Aceh is merely mentertibkan something that should have been created to order. To review this discrepancy, I try to categorize it into several sub points in order to be easy to understand and not to mix.
1. Aceh has Islamic Law
I place this as the first order, because this is what is very prominent, why Aceh looks different. Implementation of Islamic law in Aceh is absolute and universal meaning without any exception to all Acehnese people and guests who come.
The concept of Islamic Shariah applied covers almost all social aspects. Its application is emphasized on the implementation of community life in Aceh. This means that we are attending Aceh are not taught how to follow this Islamic Concept, but we will be forced to follow the rules that have been set.
For example, Parents set on Hospitality or Lodging Services in Aceh. In this place it is prescribed that any Hotel / Lodging Every guest is prohibited from receiving a non-Muslim partner to stay in one room. This rule is implemented in a way that every couple who wishes to do a Chek-in at a hotel or lodging, to show a Marriage Book or Other Information that can prove that the couple is married. Another example is that the recent flight attendants, flight attendants from and to Aceh are obliged to attend. It is also as evidence that Aceh regulates the manner of dressing in order to conform to the Islamic Shari'a concepts imposed in Aceh.
So, the point here is that the Aceh Government does not burden anybody with this rule, because it seems to me that such a rule is necessarily reasonable and logical. Not allowed to be in a room with unmarried and dressed women using hijab for flight attendants, both of which are Humanistically a form of respecting and honoring Women as Valuable Being with all the advantages and enjoyments they have in them. Soo, Its not wrong and it's not worth dread.
2. Social Interaction In Aceh
In this section I will parse how to blend with the people of Aceh so that we are not awkward and not the center of attention, or even the target of accusations that make us get social sanction. Interacting in Aceh is actually only at the extent to which we can recognize and know the customs that apply to the area we visit. This is because each region in Aceh has a regional culture that is different from one to another.
However, in general all these differences can be put together by only we can understand the prevailing social norms and set in the Islamic religion. This is because almost all the people of Aceh, social conditions of society can not be separated from the role of rules understood from the concept of Islam. This social concept is not fully contained in the prevailing laws and regulations in Aceh, it can even be said that only a small part of the things that are considered to have a major impact and cause turmoil amid the society set in the Loga.
As an example of the first, you want to dress in Aceh with a western style that is by using a bikini and then walk in the middle of the city. Even if you are not an Islamic, you will get social punishment from the people who are in Aceh, because this is very rare and absolutely not happening in Aceh.
Secondly, if you and your spouse are making out in public, this will also be in the spotlight because things like this are strange things that are not done by the people of Aceh even though husband and wife. So leave this out, if you do not want to be the target of bully the people of Aceh.
From both instances it can be understood that, the Acehnese people do not tolerate distorted and indecent things for public display. Similarly, other aspects, such as drunkenness, gambling and so on are part of the shrouded in Aceh. Although there is, but it is not overtly like everywhere else outside aceh. So you have to prepare for fasting from those things while in Aceh.
Moving on from the above issues, Aceh regulates regulations on several cases, such as adultery, khalwat, nasty, gambling and drunkenness, and others with strict sanctions and if violated. This rule applies to all those caught red-handed by Acehnese officers or people and is proven to do so. Forms of punishment may be fines, whips and prison confinement. So, if you intend to go to Aceh to do these indecent things, you should undo your intention, because surely the disaster will befall you.
So, Social Interaction that happened in Aceh is not as spooky as imagined, we are only required to behave like a man's nature and do things that are not contrary to the existing social norms and life.
That's a handful of images about Aceh that I can review, God willing, in the future we will add again in more detail and detail. Please forgive where there is a mistake of everything I write, because the author is not an intellectual with a myriad of references and facts, leaving the writer only a steemian that really still needs intake of knowledge to flourish.
Finally, I only expect constructive comments and input from all the steemian friends throughout the archipelago, and also give a response to the aceh you think, which may be the basis for the next article in describing Aceh to be more familiar and familiar to all corners of the archipelago even all over the world.
