A botanical garden, a well-preserved nature reserve in Wellington, covering 25 hectares of land in the boroughs of Thorndon and Kelburn, near the center of Wellington. The garden includes a large area of protected forests, plants, shrubs, etc. The city electric train also crosses the garden. The garden was founded in 1868. In time, the garden authorities divided it into individual parts, including:
- Lady Norwood Rose Garden (1950)
- Begonia House (Begonia House) (1960)
- Treehouse Visitor Center (1991)
