Travel of UEFA EURO 2016, WORST in the world! I'm FAILED

in travel •  8 years ago

Do not think badly of me, I have great respect for football fans, because from childhood I was accustomed to it. My dad is a football fan. And I heard often how he rejoices or swears and angry during a match. Therefore, the behavior of football fans and traditions I knew. But I didn’t think that I can afford to spoil a vacation because of football!

It all started with the fact that my aunt called me to France for two weeks have a rest. Why not? I had some free time and money, I agreed. We bought tickets to the desired date, and flew to the south of France. I was very happy, because I was in France for the last time 12 years ago. I was planning to travel around the south of France and made a route on the cities and sights.
We flew to Marseille through Munich, and stay there 8 hours. When I left the airport I saw it:

This is a Fan zone with a big screen to broadcast football. I was very surprised, because I absolutely forgot that right now all Europe watches football! It was a failure. Facepalm!
Ok, we flew to Marseille. Fan zone have been installed everywhere in Marseille, especially on the beaches, where were a lot of football fans dressed to form with flags and other fan staff, they were mostly drunk and loud talking and laughing. It was all done in France for the fans: everywhere were maps with the location Fan zones, all the information and it were a lot of police and tutors, who just came up on the street and asked: Do you need help?

Moreover, a large TV hung in every bar and cafe, which also broadcast the football. But we decided with my aunt to visit museums, and what do you think? Even in museums was football too!

Of course it's a joke and I spent a really good time in France, but for me it was not a journey to the south of France, it was a trip to the UEFA 2016. More about my spending time in France, I will tell you in the next posts.

Thank you for attention.
Sincerely
Anna

Very nice post.

That airport picture was stunning. That large ceiling is unlike anything you see in the prairies of Canada

Nice photos!

Looks like a fun time. It makes more sense to call it football, than soccer like we call it in the USA. Football here sees the ball rarely kicked and mostly thrown.

yes, it's football exactly! thank you
