My trip to Valletta, Malta!steemCreated with Sketch.

So I honestly never intended to go here like a few others countries in this series of stories. But it came up in the flight thing, and I thought to myself when will I ever honestly have a chance to go to Malta again? So I took the leap and booked it. And then I was like, where is Malta? As this handy dandy google image points out, it's there. Right below Sicily.

But I had no idea why I was going there. My parents for some reason thought it was a dangerous country (it's not) but that's all relative of course. But I only spent one day there; it's enough I guess but there's more you could do for sure, I tend to rush through things to see haha. I rented a guys apartment for my stay, which was a pretty good deal because it was smack dab in the middle of Valletta which is pretty hard to get because most people stay at the city across the way and commute over. When I arrived in the airport you can take a taxi and I really do like the Maltese system much better, you prepay for your destination, and they take you wherever you're going you dont have to worry about the meter running up, they dont have uber from what I could tell. But here's my view from the apartment I rented

So the two official languages in Malta are English and Maltese but literally everyone speaks English as it was an English colony for a very long time, so you can get a sort of italy vibe vacation but without a language barrier.

Valletta is very small and dense, but it's a good thing in my opinion, you can easily walk the city. However it's a lot of walking up steep areas, so be ready for that. A must see is St. John's Co-Cathedral it was absolutely stunning, it was the most elaborate church I saw in my travels, every inch was decorated.

And I got a bunch of pictures walking around observing the city, it's very old and you can feel that as you walk around.

Here's a cat in the neighborhood literally resting on a wire above the street lol

And here are some cats on the street itself that came up to me! I had cat treats because this has happened to me before

It was a really nice country, it's worth visiting. It's nice to be able to speak English haha.
