Greetings from Anjian. This is our first post about travel and we hope you find it worthwhile.

She was in Saint Petersburg, Russia three weeks ago and one of the places that burned itself into her memory and emotion was the Peterhof Palace.

The entire place was build over a period of 50 years starting from 1705 during the time of Petar the Great, the famous Russian Emperor. The palace consists of six building, two gardens, and eight fountains and serves as a great testimony of Saint Petersburg's resilience and beauty.

Unfortunately, as many other places, Peterhof was touched by the destructive miasma of World War II when the invading German army sacked it.

On the picture you can see the damage that the war brought to Peterhof. However, as She toured around the grounds, She noticed the perseverance of the Russian people and their ability to create beauty from chaos. In its current state, the Peterhof palace left her speechless as the no trace of the destruction had remained.

Moreover, the fact that she noticed tourists from China, Japan, and many European countries including Germany gave her the impression that the people have overcome the scars of the past and have made great effort for improving relationships.

As a result, we all have the opportunity to admire the jewel that is Peterhof Palace and understand that every damage caused can be reversed.

Finally, She advises you all to book an online ticket because her hosts forgot to do so and the line are quite long. Also, if you decide to fully absorb the views and history of the place you will have to spend at least a whole day. Enjoy.
