I am a massive fan of intricate structural details, naturally when on holiday in Berlin I was lucky enough to take this snap of a suspension wire glazing system skirting one of the buildings at the Sony Centre. The struts and ties of the system help to add structural depth while keeping the lightweight, delicate appearance of the overall system. This depth is essential in providing resistance to the effects of wind and internal pressures on the structure. It is the culmination of structure and architecture in this instance which is really the epitome of modern day engineering and architecture. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
