Locals tell the story of how there were three owners of land that intersected right at that point, so they made a pact. The first person who would climb it, would claim it as their own. And that is how only the Villegas family was able to claim ownership.
This is a magical place, where you can climb a huge rock by going up 650 steps. The hight of the rock is 220 mts above ground.
The landscape is definitely breathtaking. You can see the Guatape Dam, and all the little islands that form all around.
When you make it to the top, you can climb a little bit more in a small tower that was built afterwards.
You can also do some trekking in the reservation parks or have a swim in some of the aquatic parks available.
