Slovenia | A Land of Love with Autumn

The English name of Slovenia is Slovenia, and there is a "Love" in the name, which made me remember the spelling of it and the country. The area of Slovenia is not large. In 5 days, we drove through Slovenia and accompanied the autumn scenery all the way, from the amazing Lake Bled to the vast Triglav National Park; Ancient castles on the cliff; from the picturesque Lipica Racecourse to the leisurely and lazy seaside town Piran, there are magnificent and fantastic scenery, as well as amazing human landscapes. There is a kingdom of love in this name.

If you come to Slovenia by air, Ljubljana is an inevitable stop. The capital is small, and the center of the city can be easily explored on foot. A castle stands on a hill in the center of the city. You can take the cable car to the top of the mountain and climb the tower to overlook the entire Ljubljana. In early November, Slovenia is in late autumn, with orange leaves intertwined with orange-red roofs.

Although the church inside the castle is small, the colorful frescoes on the roof are beautiful and impressive.

The Sava River flows through the middle of the city. I like cities with rivers. The river water always makes them more gentle and poetic.

There are many restaurants, bars and cafes on both sides of the river bank. The streets of a city are often the epitome of people's life here, depicting the soothing rhythm of this small town and its love of leisure.



The whole city is surrounded by the colors of autumn

There are many small alleys in the center of the river, and it is very comfortable to stroll around. Alleys are full of shops, but the most are still cafes and restaurants.

In the morning, people ordered a cup of Expresso, and without sitting, they stood in the alley and took a newspaper to start the day.

One of the most classic sights in Lubuarna is the Triple Bridge, with the main bridge and the attached bridges on both sides leading to three different directions. The pink building on the other side of the bridge is the Annunciation Church of St. Francis. It rains during the day, and the wet ground looks like a mirror, reflecting the lights on the bridge, making such a night more beautiful. In front of the church is the circular Presernov trg. It is named after the Slovenian poet Presernov, whose national anthem is based on his poetry.

Another symbol of Ljubljana is the Egon Kase bridge. This stone bridge was built in 1901. Four mighty bronze pterodactyl dragons stand on four pillars at both ends of the bridge. The legend is Ljubljana Patron saint.

There is another church in Ljubljana worth visiting: St. Nicholas Cathedral. Especially the bronze door of the church is very special

Lunch is eaten at the restaurant on the hilltop castle, where Slovenian cuisine is served, and there is also innovation in tradition.

The two of us chose meat for the main course and fish for the other. The dishes are delicate, the seasoning is simple, but the taste is not simple.




The Slovenian's favorite and most proud place to visit is not Lake Bled, but the Postojna Cave in the south-central part. Farewell to Lake Bled, we headed south to Piran, just passing the Postojna cave. Postojna Cave and Brigama Castle built in the cliff face cave are both located in Postojnaska Jama Park, only 10 kilometers away, which is suitable for visiting together.

This inconspicuous entrance is the entrance to the cave in Postojna.

The cave train will go to the depth of the cave first, and then the tourists will get off and walk along the walking path, and then take the train to get out of the cave at the end. The whole tour takes about one hour and 30 minutes.

The karst train passed through the narrow cave, and it became wider and wider until it appeared a huge stalactite hall with crystal lights. It turned out to be a huge mysterious and colorful world beneath the ground.


The Stoina cave is listed as one of the most peculiar underground caves in the world. Only it has given birth to a complex combination of cave systems and colorful stalactites, and is therefore known as the "King of Caves". Unlike the colorful lights in domestic caves, the cave is illuminated with only yellow and white lights, which allows the landscape in the cave to be displayed closer to nature in front of people, and it can also protect the landform and biological.


Water droplets have been falling continuously for millions of years, and in the dark, years and perseverance have carved a magnificent miracle. Strange stone pillars, stalactites, stone mantles, stone flowers, in all kinds of poses, sober and beautiful.

Affected by different mineral elements, the stone pillars show different colors. The most peculiar thing is that in a hall full of red-brown stone pillars, a pure white stone pillar appears suddenly, like a huge vanilla ice cream, forming a sharp contrast with the rest of the stone pillars next to it.

My favorite is a cave called "Pasta", the top of which is a fine silver-white drooping crystal.

At the end of the walking path, you can see where the cave was found that year. In 1818, the discoverer Luca Cicci accidentally crossed a small bridge over the river and entered the cave, opening up a whole new world.

Predjama Castle is the only cave castle in Europe, dating back 800 years. The oldest part of the castle was built in a huge cave, and then it was continuously expanded, and then there was a part outside the cave, forming a magnificent scene like the mosaic on the cliff.

The castle has changed hands several times in history, and the family emblems of previous owners are displayed in the castle.

Looking out of the castle is a tranquil idyllic scene.

I like horses. I used to watch equestrian performances at the Spanish Equestrian School in Vienna, and I was impressed by the elegant dance steps. Later it became known that this white horse was Lipica from Slovenia, and this place name also became the name of this horse.

Enter the racecourse to participate in a small group tour, take a carriage and walk through the picturesque racecourse. In the afternoon, the golden sunlight drops down, romantic and beautiful. During the high season, there are wonderful equestrian performances every day. If there is a basis for riding, you can enjoy riding here.


The carriage consists of two adult horses. Their backs are wide and soft, their pace is light, and their posture is elegant. The white mane flips along with the body's rhythm. The guide told us about the Lipica horse in the carriage.

Lipica horses not only have beautiful and elegant appearance, but also have superb learning ability. They have always been court horses in Vienna, and now they are also top equestrian horses.

The seaside town Piran is our last stop in Slovenia. Piran's old city is on a prominent peninsula, overlooking from the perspective of God, this small red-roofed town is gently surrounded by the Adriatic Sea.

We live in Tatini Square, the center of the town. The name of the square comes from the composer Tatini who was born here. On the square stands his bronze statue.


The history of Piran dates back to the 7th century AD. Geographically, it is adjacent to Italy and Croatia. Historically, it has been under Venetian rule for a long time, so it has many similarities with Italy in terms of architecture and lifestyle.

The square is next to the pier and the sea. Taking a casual walk along the seaside, you can see the beautiful coastline of this small town.


Italians cannot do without coffee, as do Pirans. When I had breakfast at the hotel in the morning, I saw people standing on the side of the road while drinking coffee and greeting friends, like a ritual in the morning. During the daytime, the cafes on the square are always crowded, and we also go to town as usual, sitting in the square, drinking coffee and enjoying the quiet time of this town.

The weather on the seashore was changeable, a gust of wind came over a dark cloud, a sun rain, and then it was covered with sunlight.
