During the next 3 weeks, I will be backpacking (and spending a lot of time in buses) in South Asia.
After Northern Thailand last year, I decided to discover Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Nothing is fixed and planned so i can enjoy places as they come. Let's see what it brings but for sure good memories and nice discoveries.
I arrived in Bangkok this morning at 6:20am. I was hoping to be able to catch the bus to Cambodia at 9am in Moh Chit bus terminal. Hopes disapeared as soon as i saw the queue to immigration check. After 1 hour of queeing, the hope of getting the bus in time was finally over.
So i decided to stay in Bangkok for 1 day. The old city is nice to hang around and i have to admit, getting some rest was not that bad either. There is now a bus shuttle from airport to Kaoh San Road for 60bath amd it took me 1 hour which is, on standard Bangkok traffic, more than fine. Bus shuttle is at thebgroubd floor level, in front of exit number 7. Just cross the road and the bus S1 is waiting for you.
I stayed at Baan Dinso guesthouse, close to Victory monument and 5 minutes walk from Kaoh Dan. Lovely guesthouse with friendly staff.
Didnt do much in the city but enjoying it.
Tomorrow, bus for Siem Reap in Cambodia to discover Angkor.
