If you're visiting Madison in the near future, you might want to plan a late night stop at The Tornado Room Steakhouse near the Capital Square.
The Tornado Room has been a Madison staple for about 20 years. This post isn't about its traditional menu though. This post is about its ridiculously awesome late night menu that is a well-kept secret in Madison.
With a dimly lit and warm interior and booths that feel like that were taken from the 50's, The Tornado Room is a perfect environment to end a night of drinking.

My friend and I visited a few nights ago to quell some late night cravings. The menu itself is filled with reasonably priced items, that if ordered during a dinner service would cost much more.

We both got steak sandwiches. These are sandwiches piled high with thinly cut strips of steak cooked to perfection. Served with horseradish sauce and the jus. It's a steal for only $9.00. I'm a sucker for a wedge salad, so I ordered one of those too.

Next time you find yourself in Madison late at night on a weekend (some may say the best time to be in Madison), head to the Tornado Room. Even if it's a little out of your way, you won't be disappointed.
