Have you been wondering how to go on a vacation when you dont have that much money?
Yes, I've been there too! I am a college students that recently had my winter break holiday for such a long time, approximately for 2 months. I do celebrate Christmas with my Family, and so we went to Bali. I went to Bali along with boyfriend and my little Family, but that is not the point of this writing.
My Boyfriend and I thought that we need a quality time before we have our own work to do. Since I need to take my Id card that has been made for 6 months. We decided to go to Cilacap (my home town), it is near Nusakambangan Island, for 5 days and 4 nights. After that we planned to go to Jogjakarta for 3 days 3 nights to create some beautiful memories. We decided to go to Jogja on the 7th of January, after most people goes back to school so the traffic wont be as bad. We bring Rp 2,000,000 along with us for 8 days and 7 night.
We went to Cilacap using a Car Shuttle (Rp 200,000/person) [cp: +6221 6311 085] and it took us around 7 hours to be there. In Cilacap we stayed in my Grand father's house so it would save more money rather than renting rooms. But if you want to there are good hotels that cost around (Rp 300,000) or Kost for (Rp 50,000 - Rp 70,000). There are also lots of things that you could do while you are wandering around in Cilacap. For example, we were food hunting. There are a lot of cafes and restaurant that provides good food with an affordable price.
There's this food called Lontong Opor + Ice tea that cost (Rp 15,000) in front of Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah. The food is really good, and the portion is Big. Enough to eat breakfast. There's also food from Cilacap called Mendoan that cost (Rp 1000/piece) it is better to eat it with chili or sweet sauce. There's also cafes that is so up to date like Upnormal (less than Rp 300 000). In Cilacap you can also cross to Nusakambangan Island to seek for Hidden Beach, you need to rent the boat for (Rp 10,000/person). Cilacap is a small city, so you don't need much time to go all over it. Other than Cilacap, I went to Purwokerto, one of the sight seeng that people from Cilacap would often go to. It took as 3 hours of road trip, and we need (Rp 100,000) for tickets and foods inside.
From Cilacap to Jogja, we decided to use the train, new train actually that cost (Rp 50,000/person) the train was nice and clean, it is fancy for that price. In Jogja we stayed in SAE-SAE HOSTEL that cost approximately (Rp 500,000) for the both of us, because we booked a room. For backpackers (Rp 70,000) bunked bed. Sae Sae wont ask for your ID or even marriage card. Feel free to sleep with whom ever you want.
In Jogja, we went to Pinus forest, up in the hill, the ticket cost (Rp 60,000/person) to go to two different places. Parking is included. We also went to Tebing Breksi and Ijo temple, up on the other hill, it cost the same. You can always google the place! From Jogja to Jakarta, we went by train it cost around (Rp 90,000) per person. We use a motor cycle to go around, we rented it actually for (Rp 300,000/3 days), in order to rent, you need 3 ID cards.
At the end of the day, I dont think that we spent more than 2 million, there are some money left from the holiday, because we really are careful with our money outcome.
I hope this writing helps you a little bit to outline what its like to go on a holiday in Indonesia.
