Ride with me #11 : Discovering the Paradise Island of Bali !

Om Suastiastu Steemit!

This heart of mine was made to travel the world; but the fact that you Steemians are a part of my journey, just makes every moment so much more special. Today let’s escape into paradise, a place where breathtaking landscapes arise as far as your eyes can see, where kids are running, high-fiving and smiling as you ride by on the little dirt roads, where there are numerous historic and stunning temples along the coast and volcanic mountains, tropical rainbows, dense jungles, lush rice fields, coral reefs, hiking through magical forests or trawling the streets of Kuta and Seminyak looking for a bargain, there is something magical in the air. Bali has a bit of heaven to offer every visitor.

This little Island country of Bali is approximately 154 km (95 miles) wide and spans approximately 110 km (69 miles) north to south.

I love Bali, coz it has been my perfect place to cruise on my motorcycle through rice fields, secluded beaches, the volcano mountain and then to end my tiring day watching the perfect sunset by the beach, sipping on coconuts or Bintang, while surfers catch some waves.

Activities:
Bali is sure to enchant every visitor with its dramatic dances like the Fire dance at Uluwatu temple and colorful ceremonies, its arts, and crafts, to its luxurious beach resorts, villas, and exciting nightlife. I was enchanted by the white sand beaches that offer various water sports activities like the sea walker, banana boats, snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing, jet skiing, swimming or plain sunbathing.

People:
The Balinese are very spiritual and are very pious in following their daily rituals, as it is an important part of their life. Their belief is that every person is immortal and their soul will live on forever. They are the friendliest people and always have a smile on their face.

Must Visit:
Two places that I personally enjoyed was a visit to Ubud which is famous for its green reserves and the wonderful rice fields terraces, a deeply spiritual place, where at every turn, the scent of incense drifts on the air and travellers radiate inner peace and you also get to experience the social and spiritual importance of rice in Balinese culture.
Ubud is the place where Eat Pray Love was shot with the beautiful Julia Roberts starring in it.

The Sacred Monkey Sanctuary is one of the most visited places in Ubud which is home to hundreds of Balinese Monkeys. The monkeys here, are definitely very smart and even pose for the cameras.

Next is the Uluwatu Temple which is perched on a steep cliff renowned for its magnificent location 70 meters above sea level. Picture perfect sunsets are what you will witness from here and is one of the holiest sites in Bali.

Thank you for following me on this ride to the beautiful island country of Bali, more exciting travel stories coming up!

Let me know which place you would like me to visit next???

Interesting! I was in Bali on my motorbike too three months ago but must admit I found it too crowded and touristy for my taste. I'm guessing your next stop has to be Lombok ...or maybe of to Java for a ferry to Kalimantan!
