The Chapel of the Holy Cross is a unique chapel which has been built into the buttes of Sedona in Arizona, and is run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix.

The interesting design was built during the 1950's and was inspired by the Empire State Building. The church was constructed in 18 months for the relatively modest cost of $300,000.

In the sculptor's words, "Though Catholic in faith, as a work of art the Chapel has a universal appeal. Its doors will ever be open to one and all, regardless of creed, that God may come to life in the souls of all men and be a living reality."

Regardless of your faith, I think you will agree that its a striking building and it commands a wonderful view over the valley below.
