Lighthouse in Malaga, Spain

Lighthouse La Farola is one of the symbols of the city of Malaga, especially its eastern part of La Malagueta, giving it its name and the embankment of the city. It is located at the port of Malaga, near the waterfront. The lighthouse rises 38 m above sea level and 33 km above the ground, and its light spread theoretically to 25 nautical miles. It is equipped with a homing system or scientifically upon arrival at the port. The lighthouse also serves for air traffic safety. Its system is equipped with an automatic electric ignition of the photocell. Every 20 seconds, it transmits 3 flashes + 1. Today’s lighthouse construction, painted white, was created in 1939 after the civil war. This lighthouse is the only one on the shores of Spain, which bears the name “Lamppost”, which has become widely known throughout the world. He was immortalized in numerous works depicting the view of Malaga from the sea and became one of the attractions of the city.
The lighthouse building is a rectangular two-story building, on which stands a 4-meter high tower, at the top of which there is a hall with a photocell and an observation deck. Near the platform where the lighthouse rises, lies a huge anchor, as a symbol of the port. Lighthouse La Farola meets cruise ships from around the world entering the port of Malaga.
