Brandy Travels: Atlantic Beach Wrap up

It's been a really wonderful visit to Jacksonville!

We have had a blast down here with a major highlight being our family got to catch up with old friends and make new memories.

When you're near the sea of course you must have seafood!

It's likely a good thing we discovered safe harbor towards the end or we would have likely would have returned over and over.

This place was epic!! All sorts of fresh local seafood to eat on the spot or take home and prepare.

We decided to take the heat out on the patio because the view was to good to pass up. We watched as the fisherman bring in their catch. While the birds swarmed around looking for scraps.

I personally love scallops, and well I couldn't have made a better choice. They were cooked to perfection, dripping in butter which complimented the natural sweetness.

As far as the shrimp tacos went. @gomatthew said they were the best shrimp tacos he's ever eaten! So apparently, a must try next time since he savored every bite.

Of course we had to get in a bit of beach time in with the offspring and the canine. We watched the surfers down by the poles, played in the water and soaked up some sunshine.

The park we are staying in has so much nature to offer and fun activities for everyone.

We had to be sure and hike the lush trails in the park. Fan palms & ferns mostly covered the wet sandy ground.

We found some painted rocks on the trail with the hashtag #jacksonvillerocks after searching for it, we saw that it's a community effort in brightening people's day. Which I think is spectacular!

The trail let out right near the lake. It was the perfect time of night to watch the animals. We saw an armadillo, an alligator, 3 different brightly colored butterflies, lots of ducklings, flying fish. The neatest animal spotting were all these beautiful cranes migrating on a small island in the lake.

I wish I could say these photos did the scenery justice! It was really truly a beautiful site.

That seafood looks great. I would spend a lot of money there ordering the different dishes. Then I'd come back again the next day and go for a second round.

Ha! Yes it was that good! I'll be making it a first stop on the next trip we make down this way.

Great pics and awesome capture of the trip :) looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks Andy!! I'll be looking forward to your posts as well!

Everything looks amazing and the food looks delicious! I'll take some lobster please :)
