If you do not have enough money or time to go to Europe for snow skiing. There is another choice in Japan. TATEYAMA KUROBE is known as Asian Alpine Mountain and is a roof of Japan. The snow wall is formed by expelling the heavy snow to form a snow corridor and visitors can walk along the snow corridor from mid-April to late June every year. The height of snow wall is different every year depending on the snowing level and the temperature.
You can start the alpine route from either Toyama station or Shinano Omachi station, but I recommend you to start from Toyama in the early morning as it is near to the snow wall. Next to the Toyama JR train station, you can start your trip by taking the tram at Tateyama Tram station. It is recommended to buy one-day pass for your trip to save your time during peak season.
If you have luggage, there is delivery service next to the tram station to deliver your hotels at the top of mountain or to Shinano Omachi station (https://www.alpen-route.co.jp/tks/work.html).
After you take off the tram, just queue up by following the green sign board (see photo), you can then travel the Mount Tateyama using a variety of transportation including bus, cable car and ropeway.
