Don't let the name fool you.
When I told my girlfriend Annie I wanted to take her to the North Sea her immediate response was: "No, never, it's much too cold up there"!
I admit: The name "North Sea" doesn't really sound like your inviting tropical vacation retreat, but more like the arctic tundra

Note: High tide and low tide at the North Sea are very extreme, the water retreats up to 7 miles and takes several hours to come and go. This is known as the "Wattenmeer" and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage

Thats the North Sea for you. It may be a little parochial, but nonetheless a charming place to spend a week of summer
