Descending the hill with a spectacular sunset and views over the city of Edinburgh, you can see Edinburgh castle and the port in the background.

Arthur's seat is at the top of the largest peak formed by an extinct volcano believed to be around 340 million years old. It is within Holyrood Park which is within walking distance from the Scottish Parliament and the Queen's Palace.

It took us around one hour to reach the summit. There were quite a lot of other people also there due to it's close proximity to the city and it's spectacular panoramic views

On the way down we walked along this cliff edge. This was the best place from which to see views over the city. It was also a little difficult to walk down because the ground was wet. Me and some guys we were walking with slipped a couple of times, if you go I would recommend grippy footwear!
